Katapult – Katapult 2006 [1980] (Czechoslovakia, Hard-Blues Rock)
The second album of the power trio from Plzen, who moved to Prague and was active in 1974-2009.2006 is the second album by the rock band Katapult. After their concert debut, this is the band's first studio album, released in 1980. All music is composed by Oldřich Říha, and the lyrics are written by Ladislav Vostárek. Unlike the debut, there are fewer hard rock riffs and the band has leaned towards song surfaces in many places. The lyrics are also often intimate in nature (Jsi křehká), or contain elements of epic (Svobodárna, Tvůj první mejdan). The departure from the rawness of the first album is also underlined by the participation of guest musicians and the use of unusual musical instruments (saxophone, trumpet, accordion) and creative methods (guitar solos recorded backwards, written by guest Ota Petřina). The album was preceded by the single "Až / Svobodárna", released in October 1979. The song "Až" then brought the band a big hit, the main lyrical slogan of which (What about the children? Do they have somewhere to play?) became popular as a catchphrase.
